UWS scholarship opportunities

At UWS we provide serious financial support for high-achieving students. If you’ve got what it takes you could be granted up to $50,000 in assistance for your degree.

Vice-Chancellor’s Leadership Scholarship

These scholarships aim to reward the academic success and personal accomplishments of high achieving secondary school students who demonstrate excellence not only in their academic studies, but who are motivated and want to make an active contribution to their community. The scholarship is valued at up to $50,000.

Dean’s Scholars

Dean’s Scholars offer unique opportunities for exceptional students who have achieved outstanding results in their HSC. Students are provided with a tailored mentoring program and accelerated study pathway (if appropriate) advanced degrees. The scholarship is valued at up to $20,000.

Academic Excellence Scholarship

These scholarships recognise and reward academically gifted students who have achieved outstanding results in their HSC or its equivalent. This is the perfect scholarship for the student who is motivated by academic challenge, and driven by the desire to succeed. The scholarship is valued at up to $20,000.

International Exchange

The University of Western Sydney has a range of exchange opportunities with partner institutions in the United States of America, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Scandinavia.

As a full-time student, you can complete a semester or a year of your course overseas and have the results credited towards your UWS degree. At various times, UWS will offer different forms of financial support. This support may be offered by the International Office or by UWS Colleges. The scholarship is valued at $2 500 for one year.

Honours Scholarship

The UWS Honours Scholarship provides opportunities for exceptional students currently enrolled at UWS, who have demonstrated academic excellence in their studies, and are either undertaking or intending to commence their Bachelor Honours year. The scholarship is valued at $5 000 for one year.

Most Outstanding Year 11 Award

The Most Outstanding Year 11 Award is awarded to support students who demonstrate outstanding academic excellence through their achievements in Year 11 and have shown leadership qualities within their school or university.

To be eligible, students need to be nominated by their School Principal. The scholarship is for study in a UWS Undergraduate degree and is valued at $20,000. Students are also provided with an obligation free $500 study grant to assist with their education costs and living expenses during Year 12.
